Lately i have been reading new databases. With the explosion of Internet and web stacks in our day to day life DB has gone a drastic change. Traditionally it had always been schema bases SQL data bases. Though they still exist and biggest companies making money out of them are Oracle, IBM, Microsoft and some open source include MySQL. With fast changing environments to maintain schemas and to fetch data out of them has become a bigger challenge. Hence the advent of NoSQL and big data bases, these DBs have the advantages of both the worlds. They can manage huge data and still have no fixed Schema restrictions. I have explored a little bit of MongoDB and Reddit and they seem to be the future. For following on DB side of things i follow below blog:
